This group of photos begins with the front parlor of Jubilee Hall. According to our guide, the stairs are no longer used. An alumna only gets to ascend the stairs on the 50th anniversary of her graduation. I loved the time we spent in the parlor; it really took me back in time. My aunt maintains that my grandfather attended Fisk for a while. I understand that he was dismissed. I've tried to imagine what for. In any case, I like to imagine him visiting a young lady in the Gold Room. I enjoyed hearing both that African Americans have had chivalric practices and that some of them are still alive and well at Fisk! The photo of the entrance (door and surround) is actually of Booker T. Washington's house (The Oaks) across the street from the campus of Tuskegee.
